What
we
stand
for

Most projects do not fail dramatically. They die quietly.

They die in the alignment session that produces no decision. The risk conversation that goes nowhere. The update meeting that somehow makes everything less clear than before you started.

Just F*cking Ship It is for the people who are done with that.

VOLTS is a five-move method for turning stuck rooms into shipped outcomes. Not through charisma, theatre or one heroic person dragging the whole organisation uphill in the rain. Through a repeatable set of moves that work under pressure, can be taught to other people, and create visible progress.

The brand reflects that. Direct. Bold. Human. High contrast. Sharp edges. No decoration for decoration’s sake. If it does not clarify the work, create movement or make the point harder to ignore, it does not belong.

Practical pages

Most projects do not fail because people are lazy or stupid. They get stuck because organisations make movement weirdly hard.

Body copy should be direct, readable and useful. It should explain the idea without sanding off the edge. VOLTS can be clever, but it must always land.

Write like we talk.

Direct. Specific. No filler.

The VOLTS/JFSI voice has been earned through doing the work, not reading about it. It does not hedge. It does not over-explain. It does not call things “learnings” or “optimise for alignment”.

It says what it means, trusts the reader to handle the truth, and always points towards action.

*
The brand is
  • Direct and specific. It names the problem clearly.
  • Confident without being arrogant.
  • Wry and occasionally profane, but always earned.
  • Practical. Focused on moves, not theory.
  • Respectful of the reader’s intelligence.
  • Short when needed. Sharp when useful. Human throughout.
*
The brand is not
  • Jargon-heavy. No “leverage synergies” nonsense.
  • Mealy-mouthed or hedge-everything cautious.
  • Inspirational-poster vague.
  • Punching down or dismissive of people doing hard work.
  • Swearing for shock value. It must earn its place.
  • Endless. If it can be cut, cut it.
Don’t write this

Our methodology leverages a suite of facilitated interventions designed to optimise stakeholder alignment and drive organisational momentum toward successful delivery outcomes.

Write this instead

VOLTS is five moves. You use them when the room is stuck and the work needs to move. That’s it.

Keep the mark clear.

The VOLTS mark should feel bold, readable and intentional. Use it with space. Do not make it grey, weak, stretched, cramped or polite. The logo is not there to whisper from the corner while a stock photo does interpretive dance.

Simple marks. Strong signals.

Graphic elements should act like signposts: highlight movement, draw attention, create rhythm. They should not clutter the page or make the brand look like it found a bag of stickers and lost all judgement.

Less theatre. More proof.
The work does not need another vague alignment session. It needs a decision sentence, a named obstacle, and a proof step someone can actually produce this week.

Quick rules

01. Lead with the problem. Stuck work, slow decisions, performative alignment, organisational fog.

02. Make the next move obvious. Scorecard, workshop, talk, book, media enquiry, useful proof.

03. Use lime for movement. Use pink for interruption. Use black for weight. Use off-white for breathing room.

04. Keep headlines big and blunt. If the headline sounds like a consulting procurement framework, bin it.

05. Do not make the brand polite, grey or generic. VOLTS should feel useful, confident and slightly allergic to theatre.
